Sarah L Hamilton
Sarah studied at Middlesex Polytechnic graduating in 1987. Her work through school, college to the present day is influenced by Henri Matisse. She finds the shapes and colours of his paper cut-outs invigorating. In 2022, having enjoyed a career as an infant school teacher, Sarah returned to making jewellery. Again, inspired by Matisse she began designing geometric, sterling silver shapes filled with shimmering, coloured resin. Designing and making pieces that were elegant, striking and easy to wear.
Sarah was then awarded a small business grant and embarked on exhibiting at shows. The first event was held at Chelsea Town Hall where her degree show had been held 35 years earlier!
Sarah thrives on the freedom and liberation that designing and making gives, the discussions with other designers, makers and visitors to shows and the ultimate enjoyment when pieces are sold.
